Urban 2 Leather Strap 24mm
? Accessories
The 24 mm wide Suunto strap Urban 2 is made of vegetable-tanned Tuscan leather. This classic leather strap gives your Suunto watch a timeless, urban look. The strap is designed for lifestyle wear and the leather will soften and its color will mature in use.
For sports use, we recommend choosing a different strap. This quick release strap is easy to change without any additional tools. Leather straps are designed for casual daily wear, but wearing them day and night will impact their qualities and lifespan, so we recommend taking the watch off for the night. Usage has a significant impact on the performance and lifespan of leather straps, and contact with fresh water, salt water, and perspiration may change the color and odor of the strap. A basic watch repair kit is needed. To detach a strap from the watch body: Turn the watch upside down. Locate the small spring bar openings. Slide the fork end of the spring bar tool between the strap and lug and pry the spring bar from the side facing the watch case towards the centerline of the strap. Gently push the strap towards you with your other hand to free the spring bar from the hole. Remove the strap. To attach a new strap to the watch: Insert one spring bar end into one lug hole on the watch. Hold the other spring bar end against the opposite lug, approximately in the place where the hole is. Pry the spring bar with the flat side of the spring bar tool against the strap until the end of the spring bar slides down inside the lug. Ensure the strap is in place by pulling the strap gently. Care instructions Wipe down the strap with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth. If needed, you can lightly dampen the cloth with water. Leather straps are not sweat or water resistant. Soaking them will cause discoloration or other damage. Gently wipe away excess moisture with a dry, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth and let the strap air dry.Direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humid conditions will cause discoloration or damage like hardening or cracking over time. Discoloration from wearing the strap is part of the aging of vegetable tanned leather. To minimize discoloration and damage to these straps, limit exposure to moisture and substances like perfume, insect repellent, body oil or lotion, or dyed materials like denim. For light-colored leather straps, minimize direct contact with dark-colored clothing, as color transfer may occur. If you find flaking, cracking, or if the surface feels dry or hard, or if the leather has been soaked, you should treat the dry strap with leather balm suitable for vegetable tanned leather. Note that leather shoe cream is not suitable for this purpose. The leather balm will change the color of the strap, but this is part of normal aging. Environmental sustainability
Suunto leather straps are made of high-quality Italian vegetable-tanned leather. Vegetable-tanned leather doesn?t contain any toxic substances such as azo-dyes, nickel, PCP or chrome VI and its production cycle has a low impact on the environment. The rawhides used for our leather straps are by-products of the food industry, so no animal is killed for its skin. Being tanned with natural tannins, vegetable-tanned objects can be safely disposed of at the end of their lifecycle, thanks to their chemical-biological characteristics.
