We had one goal in mind when we set out to design the Cube Editor frame: make the ultimate urban assault bike. Ultimate looks, ultimate comfort, ultimate speed, ultimate practicality – for internal gear hub.
Urban speed machine: Cube Editor Frame in black?n?orange for Internal Gear Hub Why is this frame so comparatively light amongst urban bikes? Well, only our engineers know the precise reason for that (and they’re not telling). But we know enough to be able to tell you that it’s got a lot to do with the double butted aluminium tubing, which saves weight where it’s not needed without compromising strength or stiffness. We can say that with certainty because, like all our bikes, the Editor has passed stringent testing in our own laboratory to ensure it’ll withstand hard use. It’s also been specially designed to cope with the specific demands of the Gates belt drive, with a Split&Slide dropout enabling an easy belt change and a super-reliable, super-easy belt tension adjuster. We even found room for two bottle mounts, so your weekday urban sidekick can double up as a weekend companion in the country. Did we think of everything? We reckon we did.

6061 aluminium alloy requires a heat treatment for the finished product. It is a stiff, very corrosion resistant, fatigue resistant,high-elongation material suitable for light tubesets with high stiffness.
Wet Paint Surface
On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
Advanced Mechanical Forming
With our Advanced Mechanical Forming technology we can mechanically transform different frame tubes and thus optimize them without material-wearing welding work for the respective requirements. Along the obtained organic look, the production method is primarily motivated by functional reasons. Multiple converted tubes enable us to manufacture lighter and also stiffer aluminum frames.
Split&Slide Dropout
The SPLIT function allows the frame to open at the rear dropout to enable a drive belt to be mounted. The SLIDE function at the horizontal adjustable dropout allows wheel adjustment and chain/belt tension to be made easily without having to readjust the disc brakes. Adjustment screws avoid readjusting the wheel and ensure perfect function and durability.
