Orbit?
The Orbit? technology is an innovative new form of rear derailleur motion control. It uses silicone fluid as part of an elegant and ultra-light shock absorber system. Compared to a conventional friction clutch system, Orbit technology produces no additional resistance to the rear derailleur spring during slow or light movement. This means easier shifting and rear wheel removal. During the ride, the fluid damper holds the chain back in a refined and elegant way. With maximum reliability and chain tension, for 2-fold and 1-fold systems.
eTAP
All of the underlying tech in our new SRAM RED? eTap groupset such as wireless shifting, advanced battery power management and mechatronics technologies are all meant to serve one ultimate purpose, to facilitate the most intuitive and consistent shifting available. DUB?
The unit consisting of crankshaft and bottom bracket is the core of the DUB technology. Here stiffness meets durability. Sram is has gone a bit further and made everything even simpler and I’ve done my job better. It is decisively the system approach through the integration of chainring, crank, shaft and bottom bracket, which means better drive performance.
Exogram?
The new Hollow Carbon Construction starts in the crank arm and extends into the cranks? spider. It maximizes the stiffness to weight ratio.
X-SYNC?
SRAM X-SYNC? chain rings provide the highest level of performance and durability. The SRAM X-SYNC? tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, the X-SYNC? chain rings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-SYNC? rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x? drivetrain.
XDR?
The XDR drive actuator is a universal mounting system for cassettes with sprockets of less than 11 teeth. It enables lighter and more versatile drives without the need for new axle standards, hub conversions or even new cassette tools. The XDR interface is 1.85 mm longer than XD and is designed for racing hub applications. XDR drive units are compatible with all XD cassettes when the cassette is installed with a 1.85 mm spacer behind it.
Flattop?
To be able to offer deep range technology, Sram had to develop a narrower chain. The unique joint shape of the Flattop technology not only enabled the this narrower chain, but also resulted in a quieter operation, increased strength and longevity.
Powerlock?
SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock? as a tool free, sure, and consistent way to connect our chains. While PowerLock? does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10-, 11- and 12-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock? is good for a one-time application only.
HollowPin?
Sram employ HollowPin? construction on all SRAM top of the line PowerChains. HP yields plate retention strength, front and rear shifting efficiency, and low weight benchmarks unreachable in solid pin chain applications.
